Tua Pek Kong Temple

We had a half day trip at Tua Pek Kong Temple on 19th April 2012. It is situated at Pasir Panjang, Perak. Instead of having the famous seafood there, we took this opportunity to eat this delicious roasted pork. We bought it from the Pusing market. The meat is tender and the skin is crispy, the aroma is unforgetable..ok, there goes my diet! :P

The girls were excited over the short trip, so looking forward since the day before..hehehehe..

After having our delicious breakfast at Pusing, we continued our journey to Pasir Panjang. Reaching there, we were attracted by the main entrance. Oh my, everything was in granite! Amazing!

Then, we had a photo session with our own Chinese horoscope. This reminded me of Penang trip :P

Around 90 deities and we spotted a few big fishes. Of course, the girls were overwhelmed.

My beautiful daughters!

NingNing found a little mushroom! The girls loved watching the tortoise eating.

The 11 giant statues facing the SEA!! It was constructed by CHINA!!!

Water from the Kuan Yin statue. We brought some home to bathe for good health and safety. Some said that use the water to bathe your car plate number so that it will be at the top in 4D! Hahahaha..weird thinking!

Can see that hubby enjoyed the trip too!

We went into the Taman Monyet, kinda disappointed as we thought that it will be a long walk and no monkey in sight. In addition, if the concrete path changed into wooden path (just like Tanjung Piai), it will be nicer..xixixixixi...Somehow, at least we had a nice sea view!

And we had the opportunity to see the fish and crab! Both girls were amazed as the fish could walk on land. We saw a crab with a pincer bigger than another!

Then, we had a break, eating ice-cream!!

What really attracted me was the water-rolling game and this "Tiger" deity! I'm still puzzled to why the people there praying to the "tiger"??

After a couple of hours spending there, we decided to head home. Driving through the "Safety Bridge", we went home happily! Hopefully to revisit here after a couple of year!

My Upside Down Life

For the past few weeks, I had been really struggling with both my life and work. Since my late grandma fell sick then admitted in the ICU and later on passed away, I felt the pain of losing someone that I have been loving for so long. Seeing my relative who had been struggling into being strong especially my mother, I'm more at ease that made me felt that all the travelling to and fro Perak and Johor though tiring but worthwhile. At the very least, I'm there for them. Although my mother is still not getting used to the life without grandma, I'm sure this is just transition period.

With our company facing multiple problems whether in financial, manpower, office politic or regime change, I had no choice but to leave our company for the time being. I knew that my family needs me, just to be there for them at that time. I'm glad that my hubby is being understanding and giving me full support and of course, helping me out in terms of taking care of our two little princesses and taking every precaution to save our company. I'm sorry that I had to leave the company when it was in a chaotic situation. What a upside down life!!

And now, I'm back...I'm confident that I can make our company in tip top condition just like it used to be or perhaps better than that. One "terrible" week had gone, we are back in our track again. Since then, my hubby wanted to take a break to release tension and to recharge. Coincidentally hubby's family organized a short family trip to Cameron Highlands. So, we took this opportunity to release tension and spending some quality time with hubby's family.

At Habu, Cameron Highlands.

Staying at Antarium.

The four supermodel XD

Wake up early in the morning to the playground nearby.

While waiting for the adults, we had a short photo session.

Sticker Holidays

On the first day of school holidays, SyuenSyuen managed to finish up all her school homework. Coincidentally, we faced electrical blackout due to human faulty so, I put a table and a chair outside the office in order to let SyuenSyuen continue to finish her homework. She took quite some time and of course, losing her patience. All I could do was kept on giving her encouragement.

On the second day of school holidays, I decided to refresh SyuenSyuen memory of sizes which I taught her on January. I prepared some stickers, few pieces of paper and a pair of scissors. Letting her to cut out all the stickers and categorized them according to patterns. SyuenSyuen practiced writing the word big and small (in Mandarin) on the pieces of paper. Pasting the stickers following the instruction; from big to small, from small to big. Then, she drew some pictures (tortoise and dog) according to sizes. Glad that she could differentiate the sizes of small, medium and big.

On the third day of school holidays, again we used stickers!! We did quite a number of activity this time round as SyuenSyuen was in the MOOD! First, she pasted the stickers according to alphabet order. Then, she pasted the stickers according to healthy and unhealthy foods. As she requested for more activity, I decided to do some Maths. I drew a table and she wrote down the numbers as instructed. Then, she pasted the stickers according to the numbers.

As Mr. Sun decided to work that day, I took this opportunity to bring both girls to playground! So, we picked up NingNing from nanny's house earlier that day and headed to the playground. They had fun! Okay, never thought that my big girl could balance herself on the see-saw! NingNing was a little scared of the see-saw as the see-saw could really go up HIGH!

Again she was up to her MONKEY SWING...ohh...SyuenSyuen too!!

On the fourth day of school holidays, I drew a picture of a male on two pieces of paper and prepared some stickers of garment including mustache and beard but SyuenSyuen decided to give up both mustache and beard as she decided to make both picture "boy". She felt interesting putting on the garment for the boy. Then, she colored the picture. Still, she dislike coloring! Haizz....After that, we had the memory games! We had fun!

On the fifth day of school holidays, SyuenSyuen wanted to spend the day with her nanny. So, I sent both girls to their nanny's house early in the morning. Yup, I could spend some time for myself..hehehe...

Soft Toys Day

NingNing was born with skin allergic (luckily, is fine now) and has a very sensitive nose, which still need medical attention. So, we kept all the soft toys since she was born. During the Chinese New Year spring cleaning, I decided to give some away to the orphanage and only kept some nice and memorable ones. Okay, still I had quite a number of soft toys :(

In the end, I put all the soft toys in a laundry basket in order to let the girls easy access to it. I was thinking what they could come up with the soft toys since soft toys is only for cuddling and hugging. This is what both my girls came up with. Since the ladybug is big enough for NingNing to sit on it, NingNing sat on it together with the other soft toys. SyuenSyuen tried hard to push them to move around the house. They had fun, including me who laughed away watching them and having thought of the "small-sized" NingNing.

Big Sister

As SyuenSyuen is spending most of her time with me in the office, I managed to teach her to do her homework and we did some reading too. As for NingNing, I hardly had time for her in terms of education as she is still under her nanny's care right after school. Her homework all left undone until I picked her up from nanny's house. By the time we reached home, it is already about 7.00p.m. In order to maintain our family's health, I insisted on cooking dinner for the whole family. As I'm a full time working mother, I only get to do all the household chores at night. Both cooking and housework really taking up some times making me left only half an hour on NingNing's homework.

Lucky enough, SyuenSyuen offered to help me with NingNing's homework so that I could spare the time in doing the housework. I'm surprised too by SyuenSyuen's reaction! Well, perhaps it is a good opportunity for SyuenSyuen to bear a little bit of responsibility and hopefully this matter will be an "add-on" chemistry between the two sisters.

On the first day of SyuenSyuen's task, everything went on just fine. I didn't bother to recheck on NingNing's homework as I think that I can trust on SyuenSyuen. However, when NingNing passed up her homework the next day, I found that she had a page of homework left undone. Oh my God! Well, I didn't get angry over it because it was my fault too. I should recheck the homework as SyuenSyuen might overlooked it. Anyway, it is a good start at least, my little naughty girl did listen to her sister and my big little girl is bearing some responsibility.

On the second day of the task, again SyuenSyuen is doing a very good job. She taught her sister with great patience and helping her little sister cleaning up the mess. Homework done, place cleaned and homework rechecked! Then, we headed to the television for a cartoon before turning in.

The same went on for the third and fourth day. Then, on the fifth day, things went wrong. I heard SyuenSyuen screaming and shouting while I was cooking in the wet kitchen. I let it be for awhile before the screaming and shouting got louder and SyuenSyuen started to cry. I knew that I need to take a look at them. NingNing, who has always being very mischievous and loves making her sister angry was up to her trick again this time. SyuenSyuen was so angry that her little sister didn't want to follow her instruction over the coloring. SyuenSyuen kept on mumbling "you are wrong, you use the wrong color, your teacher will scold you.." Well, NingNing as usual purposely taking the wrong color to color, laughing away when seeing her big sister got angry and sad! Haizz...I think that I need some time and some effort in this..well, it's that time again of brainstorming! Hope that I have a better idea in my next blog. See...my lil' mischevious girl!

SyuenSyuen's 5th Birthday

After much consideration, we decided to have a small celebration for our daughter together with all her cousins rather than with her friends. At first, I was thinking to throw a small birthday party at her kindergarten but afraid that it might be troublesome for the teachers and perhaps we will disturb their learning progress. Then, my hubby suggested that perhaps we could have a small party at home with just the 4 of us. In the end, we decided to celebrate it at eldest sister-in-law's house rather than our home. It is merrier and happier if she could celebrate her birthday with all her cousins. And yes, we made the right decision. A special thanks to eldest sister-in-law for preparing all the delicious foods!

This is her birthday cake, Tiramisu Cake from Secret Recipe.

Birthday song time, with both English and Mandarin version :)

Cake Cutting Time!

Everyone is happy!

Gift Opening at home, kinda late at night and both was sweating due to the playtime at sister-in-law's house.

SyuenSyuen is overjoyed to receive the gift from her cousins. And finally our gift for her, which she had been longing for, a Barbie Doll's Bedroom and Bathroom Set!
